I really don't get it? Right next to the American flag and a few other nation flags. I was really upset, not because of what the flag stands for so much as it's up there for no real reason. I'm Norwegian, where's my flag?(jk)

I think if a college is going to fly a flag it should be for the country it's in. Not to make a group of people happy.

The peace flag traditionally has 7 colors in it while the gay pride flag generally has 6. The original gay pride flag had 8 colors and has recently been used more often.

The gay pride flag, when used by a university or company, is showing tolerance for the gay community. It is saying that here is a place where everyone.. gays and str8's alike.. can feel safe and be accepted.

First, i admire background, so I consider you partly. nevertheless, i've got been to parades the place the multi-colour flags are waving interior the breeze, and that i understand darn properly the individuals protecting them or only walking by them are there commonly to coach help for lesbian and gay human beings. They understand what it fairly is choose to be gay, to be distinctive, and sense affinity and empathy in direction of others who could have suffered for their sexual orienation. yet they understand little or no approximately gay and lesbian background. that doesn't in any way cheapen their journey interior the parade. It in all probability makes them greater open to discovering greater approximately their own background. i think of somebody who carry the staff of a gay flag in alongside a parade direction is an quite courageous man or woman, certainly.

The flag is letting people know that the campus is a gay friendly campus. And since people of all races, sex and in every nation of the world are gay, it does represent everyone, not just gays in the US

hi,
i understand what you are saying but i don't think that the gay flag is flown for that reason i think it is to let them know that gays are safe at that college or that it is ran by a gay establishment. but i am not sure of that so don't quote me on it. i have just wondered the same thing and this was my conclusion.

cause the university wants more support, and considering gays love everything, they will dish out their whole wallet to the gay-supporting university. (they dont really support gays, but it pays).
