If you are residing outside India then you can open an NRI account in any banks/branches in Kerala.
Your passport copy with residence visa page, photograph, initial deposit (foreign remittance) and the application form are the requirements.

yes u can open one in kerala. but there is no such thing as NRI accounts. the correct title in NRE ( non resident external )
