This is the last year of Hunter's contract and if he goes to free agency he could easily get a huge contract from someone else. Hunter has made it clear that he would like to remain a Twin. Will the Twins sign him to an extension before the end of the season?

You also must consider that Justin Morneau, Joe Nathan, and Johan Santana all have contracts that need to be signed in the next two seasons.

I'm a Twins fan, but I don't think he'll play for us next year. he will want too much money. I think he'll get traded before the deadline so we at least get something for him. I think Denard Spann will be ready to step in and play every day soon so watching Hunter leave won't be the worse thing, just one less bat in our lineup. Also Castillo is a free agent that I think is very under rated.

Hunter is gone. I think the Twins may go after next year free agent Andruw Jones of the Braves to replace him and add some more pop to that line up.

I believe he would like to stay and the Twins would love to have him, but I believe he will be gone. It all gets down to dollars which the organization is lacking. Remember, they have Santana coming due soon and they need to save their money.

He really wants to the stay with the Twins...he's even willing to take a pay-cut...

That's somebody we really want...good guy and good player...

If they extend the contract, I honestly think he will stay...

He's leaving. No if's and's or but's about it.

The three you listed are all much higher priorities for the Twins.
