I know there are many many people that are upset with the direction our country is heading, but why don't I hear them speak out more? Our voice is supposed to be heard and accounted for by our politicians.

BTW, I haven't been missed at the polls since I turned 18 and if I write my congressmen/women fairly regularly. But you know what... All I get is that cookie cutter response that every other letter gets. It can be discouraging.

Too many people whining on here and not writing to their Congressmen. Here is the other problem: over 90% of Senators and congressmen are re-elected. Knowing that their odds of losing their jobs are so slim, what is their motivation for doing better work? People need to start speaking out more... at the voting polls. Too many people voting the party line, and not enough people voting nincompoop incumbents out of office.

people tend to live in their own reality. Everything which is uncomfortable thinking is being put into some corner of their minds and forgotten.
people also don't have the time and the will to see the picture as a whole.
its just a shame.
If this situation continues for another 10 years, we gonna be completly isolated from the rest of the world.
This is what you hear outside the US.

People busy themselves too much to be concerned, and it's sad to see.

I'm very political, I write my senator/rep, signed up at congress.org to email me on what bills are going through and what my congressmen voted, and keep on top of things. It often feels like an uphill battle though. Trying to get others active is like pulling teeth.

People fear the government now. It spies on the people, fights unjust wars, is corrupted on every level, brainwashes the people, imprisons without trial, and many other examples of tyranny. Who in their right mind would want to speak out against that. It's dangerous.
