In order to be a good GM, you have to be able to land the big star player who can change the outcome of a game, and you have to be able to find a player and develop him into a star, for example, Dan Uggla. Hey, at least the Marlins are doing better than the Nats.

p.s. Why does it seem as though Big Papi was in the minor leagues with EVERY MLB team before the Red Sox????

I think they could have built a dynasty from 97 til now if they hadnt had fire sales year after year. Some of the trades they made were necessary and got solid talent back in return. But, too often trades were made to cut salary which is sad.

They have no fan support and no stadium and an owner seemingly not willing to do something about either. They had no choice but to dump their players before they had to negotiate new contracts and Cabrera will be next. They need a new owner and a new stadium and the fans will come. Two championships with no support is unbelievable to me.

The main reason they have no money is because nobody shows up to the games. I mean come on they average less then 10,000 people per game.

i think they wouldn't be considered a joke if they had an owner who cares.
