Absence makes the heart grow fonder is a great sentiment, but most people are the out of sight out of mind types. Me, I'm a bit of both.

i try to be "out of sight out of mind", but my mind likes to mess with me, so I end up with "absence makes the heart grow fonder"

Generally, I tend to be "absence makes the heart grow fonder."
I think it depends on the other variables in the situation.

If it's the ex-wife who screwed my daughters 17 year old boyfriend for 2 years...it's out of sight "out of her mind"
