No one is forcing you to listen to Limbaugh's show or demanding that you read Coulter's books. Yes, they can both be extremely irritating and probably give you much reason to hate them. But why bother? Why can't liberals just ignore them and not pay them so much heed?

This is my question to those of you disagree with them, but continue to make constant statements about them - Why waste your time by giving such a great deal of attention to people that you despise?

There's something to be said for ignoring those you don't like.

Then again, people have a right to speak out about them - just as much right as Limbaugh and Coulter do to say what they want.

As a matter of one's own mental health and blood pressure, though - I agree. I try to avoid stress when I can. Although my presence here is a stress producer!!!

Because to be quite frank, one's mother's advice of ignoring the schoolyard bullies doesn't work. Limbaugh and Coulter have huge audiences who respect and believe them, and I think many liberals feel that if they don't openly oppose them, they will simply gain a larger audience and gain more support. The liberals may be going about it wrong, but both sides tend to attack the loudests and most extreme people on the other side, because they both make good targets and target others themselves.

I guess the same reason that Rush and Coulter can't stop talking about liberal hollywood, John Edward's hair or gayness, Paris Hilton, etc. If they would talk about important issues a more serious dialogue would be the result.

They want to destroy Coulter and Limbaugh because they are voices of dissent. The only thing they want us to here is what is reported in the Left wing mainstream media. The main reason that they hate alternative media, is that Liberals are told that anybody who even slightly disagrees with them is an idiot. They do not want public debate, because they know that they cannot win. They also hate to be exposed for the Hateful socialists that they are.

I don't despise Limbaugh and Coulter. I'm hoping they do Comic Relief this year as they're both just as funny as Robin, Whoopi and Billy and it's about time they used their comedic talents to help someone else instead of lining their own pockets.

People have every right to answer them back. Sometimes laughing at their expense or even using them in fundraising is a good way to respond. Ann Coulter has unintentionally helped John Edwards raise money. And she's helped liberals in many, many ways.

You can't dish it out without also taking what comes. Limbaugh and Coulter choose outrageous polemics, and in my opinion intellectual dishonesty. Then they use the public airwaves and to vent their unwelcome views. This is their right as it is the right of anyone who disagrees to disagree. So as long as its OK for them to be outrageous, then its OK for me to complain about it.

But piling on is so much fun...come on, you'll loved piling on Bill Clinton's Impeachment. You'll loved it when Bill was being grilled and you're guilty of enjoying the guilty pleasure of watching him roast. Now you're sensitive that Rush is pill popping addict with a thing for Hispanic escorts. Come on! I myself am an equal opportunity offender and enjoy piling on the mighty any chance I could get.

in this forum it's most likely to vent. in a thoughtful world the merits or faults of what they say would be considered and if valuable, retained. but...please note...whenever they are held up for scrutiny, their response tends to be "i'm only an entertainer". this says everything about the depth of their sincerity.
