It is a light brown color with a darker brown color V on it back. When it just sits there it's front legs go under its body the second ones go out and to the back of its body and the last two go over the second one and together by it's head.

the brown recluse is also called the fiddleback because that marking on the back looks kinda like a fiddle. That sounds like what you are talking about. And they are EXTREMELY deadly. If you get bitten by one you might need surgery or whatever limb they have bitten you on can get messed up and you'll have to get it amputated. They are everywhere in memphis and are no joke. If you see it crawling somewhere, kill it NOW!!!

Can't really say without a photo, but from what you have explained, I agree with the others, that it is a Fiddleback, better known as the Brown Recluse. It is dangerous, but not as deadly as the stories have said. An allergic reaction to it's venoum could be fatal, but most do not cause any necrosis. However, any nasua, vomitting, rashes (other than at the bite site) could mean big problems. Most fatalities from Brown Recluse Spiders are in young children and people with weak immune systems.

Brown Recluse Spiders are often mistaken for Cellar Spiders and Pirate Spiders.

Brown Resluses form an irregular web and like damp spaces.

Your location would also have helped ID this gal. Brown Recluses inhabit the United States from southern Missouri to the entire Gulf Coast.

Here are some photos, as well as some good info.........

I would recommend getting it out of your house, just in case.

Unfortunately that is too little information. where was it found (both geographically and a habitat description), how large is it and do you have a photo? It could be one of many varieties of spider, and although which country you are in may help, transportation of good can mean it could be one of any number of things. If you are very worried, then call some form of pest control, or if you feel up for it, invertebrate poison, a large box a knife or many other devices could be used to kill it...or try transporting it, or leaveing it if it is not bothering you. If you are worried about it being a highly venomous species, best you leave it, or have a friend nearby ready to call emergency services

Don't know - could be a bunch of things - one thing I'm pretty sure it's not is a Brown Recluse. Perhaps you could get a photo? If not any other details you can think of (where you see it, whether it has any other features that you notice, whether it has a web or any sort of shelter) would be useful.

Have you seen it in person? From the markings, I'd say a Brown Recluse. And yes, it's deadly.

Hi, I think that is called "THE BROWN LA GOOSE" not sure on the correct spelling. If they bite you, you will be eaten from the poison from the inside to the outside very nasty spider.
