My computer was infected badly and lagging. I went in safe mode and deleted many viruses and infections and then my computer was alot better. Then once in regular mode i deleted alot of programs that i don't use. My computer was moving very quickly and wasn't lagging at all. Then i bought AVG Internet Security 7.5 and downloaded Adobe Acrobat and my computer became amazingly laggy and slow again. I got rid of acrobat but it is still very laggy.
I even defragged it and disk cleaned it and it's a little better but isn't going too fast.

Can anyone help me??
Plz i'm desperate.

All Internet security programs slow your computer down some what. My recommendation is to back up all the files you want to keep and go into system recovery and delete your hard drive. Doing so will make your computer as fast as when you first got it and also all the viruses and spy ware will be deleted. To run system recovery you need to restart your computer and tap i think its F10 when its starts to boot which will take you to the menu best choice is to select the option where everything is deleted not just the programs. Next just put all your old files and install your old programs and PC should be perfect.

Without trying to be smug or offend, but a computer is a lot like a baby, and there are certian things that just must be done regularly to keep it running smooth.
First, if you did in fact have a virus or Trojan problem chances are you still do unless you used one of the virus removal tools supplied to users from McAfee, or Norton.
I run Disk Clean every other day, Defrag once a month.
Lavasoft's Adaware. Spybot Search and Destroy every other day. I manually remove all Internet files and all the temporary files and history's every day or so, and have had this Dell for 5 years and it runs at the same speed it did out of the box.
Be careful where you visit, and do not just randomly download anythig. Do not open any e-mail unless you know the party that sends it. There are simply way to many scams, and plishing going on. If you don't at least try to follow some of these your computer can be inoperable in a week.

Are you sure there is not a spy ware program installed? They can hold everything you do on the pc and take up all your space. How much available space do you have?
