It is not good to delay this, it is a serious problem, and needs to be dealt with NOW. PPL make things so complicated and difficult that they cant see the forrest for the trees. and many dont really want it to be solved as it is a big money maker for the govt tocontinue to battle this, instead of doing the obvious and solivng it. not even that difficult. But hey noone asks me. Do they ask you? They always let a problem get so big that noone sees a solution, rather than attacking it when it is a little problem. But there is a solution if they would seek God about it. He has all the answers.
We need much action on this immediately. not more stalling. Speak up america.

Immigration is a devisive issue. The American people are generally against excessive immigration of any kind and overwhelmingly outraged by illegal immigration. But, the American politicians absolutely love massive amounts of immigration, legal or otherwise.

The current status quo is that the people demand curbs on immigration, and strong immigration enforcement, and the government grants them, then willfully fails to enforce the law.

The Amnesty 'compromise' would not have changed that, it would just have converted 12-20 million illegals into citizesn - in effect, doing an end-run around immigration laws. That accomplished, the status quo of willfully leaving immigration laws unenforced would have continued.

Personally I think it is good since this bill is a hodgepodge of things that made no sense to good immigration policy, border security, or homeland security. I think though you will notice the Democrats are blaming Bush for the bill's defeat.

well dems supposedly didn't want guest workers

reps didn't want amesty

i still can't believe

no body wanted a wall to actually keep the illegals out

and somebody thought the illegals were going to line up to pay $5000 because they love america so much

Try as you might, this was their baby .... This has been on the Bush agenda since the Republicans blocked his last bid for amnesty... One thing the President and the Democrats have in common is amnesty.... regardless of how they spin their loss.....

I think it's good the bill was dropped. How they did it is immaterial. I would guess the amendments were a face saving measure to keep from getting voted out.

Democrats aren't the only ones that blocked the bill. There were quite a few Republicans that voted against it also.

No amnesty that's good! What America wants is for enforcement of the law.
