I speak from my own belief, which is that yes, animals have a soul. It's just that it differs from our own, is all. How many times have you heard stories about animals which have risked or or even given their lives so that people can live? These are not the acts of a souless creature. Everyone I have ever met in my life has at least one story like this to relate. The Catholic church tries to teach and imply that animals have no soul, and therefore, euthanasia should always be allowed, even if the animal is perfectly healthy. I disagree with this. Animals do have a soul-and yes, they can also sense death, even if they don't understand it.
A simple example of this is what happens when a horse dies when it is in a pasture with other horses. All of the other horses will know that the horse is not sleeping- and they can sense that some change has taken place that warns them to stay away from the area. I have seen this happen with my own eyes many times.
Dogs and cats are somewhat similar in their behavior- except in their case, they are capable of actually grieving when their mate or another animal ( or a person) that they are close to dies. I have seen dogs become very depressed, stop eating, become ill, and die themselves when their human master or mistress dies. That is not the behavior of a souless creature.
As for wild animals, the picture with them is less obvious. Some animals which live in the wild clearly experience grief when one of their own dies ( think elephants here) but for others, I can't really be sure. Do dogs and cats ( and other animals) go to Heaven? I think so- or at least they go to the place that is mentioned in the famous poem "The Rainbow Bridge". That Bridge is the bridge to Heaven, or so I think. The animals we love go there and they wait for us to join them. Just my thoughts.

As a person with no particular religious beliefs I find this hard to answer.I am not sure that I have a soul, never mind a cat or dog! I think having a soul means;do you feel,do you matter,do you have the right to be treated with humanity?! So my answer would be yes, they do have a soul!

It is questionable if animals have souls. I believe that they do, or at least end up in heaven. The bible makes mention of this but I forget where it states it.

A concordance should help as it is like an encyclopedia for your bible.

No one knows, it can only be a matter of opinion. Which is why self-righteous, stuck-up answers like reckless_republican's make me feel like vomiting. How people can think their way is the only way is beyond me.
