The blue whale!

OR

an even larger giant Squid/Octopus which has never been seen!

Since no other extraterrestrial organism has been found, this is the fact.

The Fungus (pointed by first poster) is a news article!
Its status is still debatable.
Its a symbiotic collection of multiple organisms.

Assuming all known living things are on earth (which they are), the largest living thing is NOT the blue whale, but the Giant Sequoia Redwood tree, which is indigenous to the central and coastal California mountains.

Calling the giant fungus is bound to be controversial, mainly because we already know of other organisms that spread this way. Plants and other fungi can reproduce by producing genetically identical offspring that remain attached to their parent--however, we have always considered this a variant of reproduction rather than growth, so many would consider the giant fungus as being a very large number of connected, genetically identical fungi rather than one single living organism.

This is all semantics of course. Still, the sequoia is MUCH more impressive when seen :)

God created the Heaven and Earth in 5 days and earth became the place He stated guy will stay to tell the tale. not something in His notice does God say guy or the rest for that rely can stay or do stay to tell the tale the different planet. God created the heavenly bodies on the Fourth day. Genesis a million:sixteen says he made the celebs additionally. Now because of the fact God stated it somewhat is what He created and known because it stars. Galaxies are words from guy to describe an entire physique of stars or clusters of stars and there is not something incorrect with that. yet a megastar continues to be a megastar. Now each little thing that I wrote as my reaction is "certainty" because of the fact it got here our from the notice of God. Is God a liar?

There are significant open questions about life on Earth; we're not in a position to measure the mass of extraterrestrial life.

The main question is whether the Humungous Fungus or the Aspen has more mass. Aspen is controversial because not all biologists are in agreement with the concept that all of those aspens in Aspen, Colorado are in fact a single organism. Just as Humungous has a single mycelium with multiple fruiting bodies popping up from it, so, too, Aspen is a clone with a single root system and multiple trunks popping up from it to support fruiting. It's also controversial because there's no reliable way to measure the mass of Humungous or Aspen. They are both orders of magnitude greater in size than Blue Whales or any other known animal.

We have not explored the entire universe so there is no way to know for sure.

The blue whale is the largest animal on Earth.

And if you consider the Earth a living thing, which it rather is, then the Earth can be the largest living thing in our solar system.

It's the fungus, I thought it was Michigan but I could be wrong. It is one organism, and quite larger than a blue whale. I saw a picture of it once in school.

In the entire universe..? No way to know the answer since we've barely even got a good peek at our own solar system.

I'll have to second the vote for the fungus. I think it's in Oregon and it's far larger than the blue whale.
