I'm thirteen, and, well, this moustache has been on me for quite a while.
She said she wants me to keep it on, because when I shave it, it'll get thicker.
It's been part of numerous jokes on some of my MySpace comments and in the chat on FFR (trust me, it is a joke).
So how can I tell my mom I want to shave?

My biological dad is somewhere (I don't want to know), and my stepdad is in Iraq, coming back in mid-July.

Tell her at some point you will have to shave it anyways. It's not her decision whether or not you should have facial hair, so just shave it.

Um my personal opinion is to just shave it you're 13 and too young to have a moustache anyway. And if it does get thicker when you shave it well then shave it again!
However, it seems that you want to do this the right way b/c you're a good kid so just talk to her and tell her that you think it's time to shave the moustache explain to her the stuff that you've been going through at school I'm sure she will understand. A mother doesn't want her child to be the butt of everyones joke. If you think that your mom wouldn't accept that as a a valid reason then tell her that it is itchy and it bothers you. Good Luck!

Be very polite and humble. That is the first secret in approaching what seems to be a very delicate subject with your mom. Continue by telling her that your stash is the center of many jokes and that it bothers you. Tell you would like her permission to shave it since you will sooner or later and sooner would make your life a lot easier. Listen to what she has to say. Remember that you can calmly state that this is your body and as long as you are not damaging it or scaring it or doing anything permanent, then it should be ok with her. Remember not to loss your cool no matter what she says or if she doesn't agree with you. She has a right to her opinion, but not to your opinion too.

your mustache will get thicker whether you shave or not because you are maturing. However, if you really want to get rid of the mustache, try facial hair remover. This removes the hair gently below the skin line and will not leave noticable stubble for a couple days. When it does grow back, it will be softer. Explain to your mom you do not like being the butt of jokes and at 13, you are maturing earlier than most boys and would just like to enjoy your 'childhood' as long as you can. You have plenty of time to have that mustache. (you can always argue the fact that she gets rid of HERS!)

If you still need to ask your mom if you should shave your moustache, then how come you have one in the first place?! Hun...do you like your face with the moustache? Yea, it'll grow, but it can always be shaved again...

Hey mom, I know my mustache will grow back thicker, but just because the hair is thiner now doesn't mean its not noticeable. I'm shaving. I love you mom.
Something a long those lines I guess. :D Just explain to her how you feel about it and then shave. Good luck!

You just tell her. It doesn't matter if she wants you to keep it or why. It won't get thicker, but it will appear thicker only because the tips will be cut bluntly. Tell her she has to get used to you growing up and accepting the fact that the time has come for you to need to shave regularly.

I agree with everyone else. Just do it.
It's really not that hard. I know some guys have to shave every day, but for me it's usually like every two days or something like that. Sometimes I have to do it two days in a row, but that's only if I missed somewhere before.

13s kinda young and she is right that it will come back thicker and thicker.
But in the end if you really must, then sometimes its easier to apologize then to ask. Get a couple of bucks together and buy yourself a disposable and take it off. When she says something then you can tell her why you did it.
