Does it hurt turtles when they are turned upside down to be looked at?

They are not hurt when turned upside down, more unnatural and feel vulnerable. It's harder for them to breathe when turned up side down because their lungs are not used to it.

A little observation for a minute won't hurt it. Enjoy.

Turtles are neither happy nor comfortable upside down (much like a human, usually), but it does not do them injury or anything- unless they get stuck upside down for a long time.

No.

If it's a male, just be careful around its claws. It might try to kick a bit, as it's going to be scared & agitated by this, most likely.
