SWIMMING can't make you fat! In fact, it's like the best exercise you could possibly have!!!! With swimming, you work-out almost your whole body. Believe me, it's good that you love to SWIM...keep on doing what you like and in no time I guarantee you'll lose weight in a healthy way! And enjoying along the way. Don't think swimming could make you fat....it's just really NOT TRUE!

Swimming is actually one of the best kinds of exercise you can do. Not only is it fun but it's awesome cardio, do it for at least half on hour to 45 minutes a few times a week and soon enough you'll start seeing your body become more toned. It's great because it works almost all the muscles in your body and its fun! Because you are in the water, it feels like you're not really working out, which makes it that much easier. But after a long swim workout, you'll for sure feel it the next day, especially in your arms. Try different swim forms to work more on the different parts of your body you want to control, like only using your legs to work them out, or only your arms, try scrunching up in the water like your an eel to work on your stomach. Don't believe everything you hear, swimming is a great workout.. So have fun with it!

no. i don't think you get fatter. i mean have you seen the people who swim!!! they get buffer and tanner everyday. but the trick is what you do after and before you swim. some people stretch and jog at least 1/2 a mile before they swim as a warmup. try that. i guarantee you won't gain weight and become fatter

Swimming is one of the best answers to lose weight and have a well-proportioned physique.

However, you will have to try out the butterfly and similar other swimming actions where you put stress on the torso, the legs and the arms.

When a swimmer gets used to the different actions, he/she may have thighs and arms that are stronger and muscular -- that's due to the regular exercises using those particular portions of the body.

Muscular parts of the body may appear to be larger than those owned by the average person. That's not fat, though.

So, don't listen to half-baked truths.

Swim and swim and swim.

Your mind and body will remian healthy.

Haha dont listen to whoever told you that. Swimming is a GREAT source of excercise, just all around great. You dont even realize what a workout you get.

An alternative: Force yourself to eat better, and dont only swim, go to the gym 2-3 times a week, work out different parts of your body

swimming does not cause you to get fatter, it actually has the opposite effect, when you swim you are burning calories, calories are what turn into lipids to store fat, as you burn them you are removing those calories all the while building and working your muscles this allows your muscles to stay keeping you fit all the while removing the fat cells. Swimming is one of the best exercises you can do to lose weight, and with a healthy diet and motivation you can lose the weight you want, look good, and feel great about yourself!!! good luck :-)

no,swimming won't make you fatter but if you swim a lot you could get into great shape!

Are you sure the person who told you that was your friend or really wanted to help you?

Swimming burns calories and fat. It's excersize. Swimming doesn't "make" you fatter. Maybe it looks like it because the fat under your skin wants to float, but the more you swim, the more it will go away.

The only excersizes that make you fat are arm curls, if you're raising food to your mouth.

who in the world told you that? swimming is probably the best exercise next to walking and running because it uses so many muscles. now this may be what is frustrating you: ur swimming and doing all of these exercises and not loosing all the weight that you would like to loose. well the next time you get on the scale keep in mind that muscle weighs a lot more that fat...so if you see results physically but not when you step on scale it's probably because ur fat is turning into muscle.
