Two things.
1. The media is ignoring Darfur because the American people, on the whole, are ignoring it. The media reflects our interests, and not that many people really care. It is really sad, but that's the truth.
2. I am a little confused about your statement about finding good news. Darfur, thus far, has little good news to report. If you want the media to report more on Darfur, then you're going to have to expect a lot of bad news before anything good happens.

If the media was ignoring what was happening in Darfur, you wouldn't even know about it. Also, its hard to ignore UN directives in the news media, and Darfur is on or near the top of the UN's list of "things to do".

because to help we would have 2 take troops from iraq to go help the people in darfur. you may think that what do troops leaveing a place have to do with anything but think if reporters started broadcasting then people will realize wow this is genocide going on in darfur we should send support. but where are the troops going to come from??? Iraq and from families. It will cause more death etc. Well that is my opinion

Because most americans don't have a clue what Darfur is or where nor would they care if they did so why put it in the news. The good propaganda isn't there it's in Iraq

Hello,
Because everyone is whining about Nato commitments in Afghanistan; wanting the troops back home from Iraq and howling about how the war got going; still griping about Rawanda and mistakes and withdrawl from Somalia and complaining about peace keeping in the Balkans. How the hell are they going to accept therefore a new military responsibility? I guess the west doesn't need more on its plate at this point in time.

Because your a member of the minority. Unfortunately, news regarding Paris Hilton and the like are more important to our society than the genocide of hundreds of thousands. Even on CNN and MSNBC, they'd rather show crap that should be saved for Access Hollywood than actual important news.

Why should we give a rat's @ss about Darfur? We have our own problems here. They created their mess, let them fix it.

because its abunch of africans doing what they do best. it doesnt affect me. to be honest i just dont care. this sort of thing happens all the time over there. theres nothing i can do about it and if somehow we miraculously solved the problem, as soon as we leave it will just happen again.
