I like Taylan better although neither would be my first choice as far as originality. What middle names are you thinking of?

Jayvyn is just a little too odd for me. When reading it, it's hard to figure out how it would be pronounced. Is it pronounced like Jay-vynn or Jav-inn? With that issue alone, you have to figure that many people will be confused in how to pronounce it. Do you really want little Jayvne to be the only one in his class every year who has the teacher who always mispronounces his name?

I like Taylan. I don't think sounding like it's made up is a bad thing. Why should everyone be named Sarah or Ethan or Emma or Sam? We need variety! Jayvyn looks very strange when it's written out or typed - the yvy is hard to look at, if you know what I mean.

Not crazy about either name, or the spellings, Esp for boys, I think traditional is the best route to go. Picture a 35 yr old professional man with an oddball kiddie name- not pretty,

Did you just make those names up yourself? I'm not trying to be rude here, but the poor kid is going to have to spend his whole life spelling his name out for other people. You can be original without being completely out-there. This recent trend of "unique" names is really getting a bit tacky. Also, If you hadn't happened to mention that they were boys' names, I would certainly have thought they were girls' names.

I like Taylan the best. I also like the name Taegan!

I like Jayvyn too, but not the spelling. That would be aggrevating. Have you thought of the name Jayden? Its unique and sounds about the same, (and is easier to say and spell)

I hope you find the name you're looking for! Good luck!

Both sound like girls names. And especially with the spelling of the first, your boy is going to be constantly correcting people on how to pronounce it or spell it. More than likely, he'll go by Jay, not the full name just to make things easier on his life.

Honestly, neither sound like real names.

Darling, remember that the babies that end up with those names, will have to go to school eventually and be made fun by the other kids. My advice, stick to classics: Peter, Louis, Kevin, etc.

I don't really like them. I think they sound "too unique" and are a little painful to say. If you want J and T names my favorites are Jayden & Taylor (both look simliar to your choices so it might work).

Good Luck.

They both sound like alien races from Star Trek.

Not good. How about Dylan, Cloyd, Troy, Clay, Zackary
