To answer your question, we would need to know what operating system you have, what your primary usage of the computer is and what programs you use often.
958mb of ram, which is 1024mb with some memory allocated to video memory, is a decent amount for Windows XP.

If the 958 is in MB, thats pretty good, that'd be good enough to run about 2 things in the background and run a full screen program like a game
But i do recommend, to minimise as much "twitching" as you can, get more RAM, around 1.2G - 1.8G

If your system performs in a manner with a speed that you like, then that's good enough for you.
My system, a Windows Vista Ultimate-based box, has 2 GB of RAM on it, and I hear it works best with 4 GB.
If you aren't comfortable with your speed, go to a site like Crucial.com and use the utility there to tell you which RAM to upgrade with.
Good luck!

I have 256 mb ddr2 ram but I NEED more - what you have is really good - research your motherboard and find out how much it supports and the speed of ram it supports and ramp it up to the max it supports and you will ENJOY your experience - kingston and crucial are 2 excellent choices of brands of ram but there are others out there that are just as good too

If you have Windows XP, that is perfectly fine. I you have Vista, I suggest going to 1.5GB or 2GB.

It depends on what you do........ If you're happy with your pc's performance, then you don't need more. I have 1GB on one pc and 768mb on another. Both work fine for me. If you have Vista you'll need 2GB.
