I found a good deal on PartsAmerica for a New Fram Tranny filter and gasket. I pretty much use Fram Oil Filters already. Does anyone know if Fram's Tranny Filters are good?

Any filter is better then a dirty filter but most professional mechanics (read serious professional not the clown at Jiify Lube or Walmart) will tell you that Fram is not a very good filter. As far as filters go you are better off with ACDelco, Motorcraft, Wix, Fleetguard or Mopar. Filters made by companys interested in servicing vehicles not marketing a flashy orange package at Autozone tend to be better filters, don't believe me, invest in consumer reports.

Any new trans. filter is better than the old one with a fresh fluid change. Personally I've got a little more faith in Wix filters for transmissions and engine oil filters. They are readily available in any NAPA parts store.

Most NAPA stores has a Fram and a Wix filter cut in half on display. One peak inside will sell you on the spot!
