My gf and i have been 2gether 4yrs..she is 23 and i am 43.. often enough random ppl *strangers* ask if she is my daughter- It infuriates me most of the time *inwardly*. i would love to know what is a good 'come back' aside from what i say--simply - no we arent related.

"She's my special daughter" and give her a really big kiss.

(I have this tendancy to lean into things, so it may not work for you)

Why does this get to you? You ARE old enough to be her mother, it is a natural assumption. Can't you two make a joke of it? That would seem the logical thing to do. My lover and I have running gags about this kind of stuff...Age does nasty things to all of us...it sort of evens the score out in time...and that is what has happened to us. I am sure he would love to hear, "Is that your dad?" But it ain't gonna happen. Such is life..cruel at times. :-) But honestly, I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. Gosh, if you do not have any other troubles in your life but this, consider yourself to be a very lucky woman. Reminds me of an old saying, "Sex with a younger man can kill....but if he dies, he dies. "

Believe it or not there are alot of novices still out there who have no clue about what life is like in the gay community. Honesty is invaluable, it educates and encompasses. Just be honest and enjoy your life. No need to get nippy with people if they're trying to be pleasant.
Four words, "Nope, she's my gf". Easy as that.

Simply say: I'd explain this is my lover and not my daughter, but I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to hear me over the noise of you eating your own heart out"

Do not get upset. Praise God that you can love and enjoy a woman. In my country's system to love a woman ruins your reputation and brings you prison and death.

I wish I could at least be your or her pen pal. My email is m_a59133@yahoo.com Also my yahoo messenger id is m_a59133 If anybody answers it would be like she has drawn aside a curtain from the window of my dark room.

A yearning woman

It's nothing to get upset over, she's younger than you.
It's really none of their business who she is.
You don't have to tell them.
I mean, you can if she gets upset that you don't take pride in your relationship, but be prepared for the normal 'nose up in the air' thing.
I think what you say now, is perfect.
Because it's none of their business who your lover is.

I would just ignore it and not add to ur frustration .. I guess it comes with an age gap like that .. I dont think people are try to offend you on purpose so it might be best not to go and offend them without due cause ..

Your energy and closness must be sooo obvious that people can feel it and are putting the most commen explanation to it. Just try to glow in the aura that people are aware of the love and closness that you share!

I like kikisnooper's answer. No, she's not my daughter and that's a good thing, too. We share the same bed...or something to that effect. They will stop asking I assure you...

Your response should go something like this, "No, as a matter of fact, we're dating. Because, unlike you, I am not pregidice, and love the person, not the age

i guess they would be people you dont know seeing as they dont know that is not your daughter, depending on the person. maybe something snapy is in order, like, so when are you getting that noes job? or yeah she's my daughter and you're old enough be her great grandmother, maybe we're all related?
i bet the whole thing would piss you off. it would me.
