This is insane....China is now poisoning toothpaste....Will this ever end. First our dogs, now our teeth.
Shouldn't we declare war on them.....that way we can also write off our debt to them over the current Iraqi war.

Isn't china communist, so that means the party controls everything, which in turn means this is a direct assault on democracy and this nation by the Red Tide of China(I just made that phrase up, I think its pretty media savy)

Someone did develop the conspiracy theory that the rice products that wound up in pet food products were tainted on purpose.
I would err on the side of caution and double-check the sources on products being bought. China has a pathetic track record on environmental issues--there are some smaller rivers totally devoid of life--both plant and animal--due to contamination.

It is more a criminal matter that we need to insist that the Chinese get to the bottom of. The diethylene glycol is not a deadly poison in the quantities they are talking about. It is unacceptable that some person tried to save money by using it. If China won't prosecute, hopefully not cut off his head, then we will need to put tighter controls on more of their products.

That's not new! The tires that can fail and kill is new! 10% of the tires sold in this country come from China and the one company that imports from them has been told to recall them but says they don't have the money to do it. Sounds a bit cheesy to me. I think we should stop importing from China, period, until they can guarantee that they're products aren't going to injure us! Who knows if this is just plain sloppiness or they're doing it on purpose?

Is it an act of terror, or just a product of poor quality control on their part? I would tend to believe the latter until something else could be proven.

Another thing we have set ourselves up for!
There is no oversight on the part of the Chinese or any regulation for quality control or guidelines for the Chinese to follow!!!
We got what we paid for!
Our government allows this to happen!

There are consequences to outsourcing & oweing
3 trillion dollars - obviously, the people in charge had
no foresight.
Bush & co. will be long gone as the Chinese continue
to get away with murder & take advantage of us.
Him & his cronies should be held accountable.

I don't think that it's an act of war, I think that it's an act of stupidity (by allowing unregulated Chinese food products into the US).
