I read about the St . Louis Arch, and I asked my father about it because he's been to St . Louis several times . He said he's never seen it . My mother said it can't be much if my father hasn't seen it . However, my father traveled for work, not to see the sights . When my father traveled, he only saw the really crummy part of the city, so he could visit a city and still never really see it . How tall is the St . Louis Arch -- and can you see it from anywhere in St . Louis ?

630 Feet. You can see it from alot of places but keep in mind it is downtown so buildings etc do obstruct the view. You can see if from a lot of highways that do not have large objects obstructing it.

You can see it from many parts of st. louis and of course from the highways leading around and into St. Louis. But if you want to "experience" it. You must actually go to the arch, take the tour and go up in it. Only go up if you aren't claustrophic the "elevators" or "lifts" are like sitting in a tiny space capsule. Very interesting and many things to see in the 'base' as well. Everyone should do it at least once.

I live in a town in Illinois, right across the river, probably 20 minutes from st louis. If I go to the right part of town (no trees obstructing my view) I can see the arch from here.

It is 630 feet high. If you like riding in a washing machine take a trip up to the top. No you cant' see it from everywhere in the City, buildings block it. Do you know the name of the river it overlooks?
