No. In case you missed it, there's also a women's world cup.

I think it might be. Here in America, the women's football teams are better than the men's. As we actually win in the World Cup (HA HA). I really believe that if women were given a chance to play co-ed or even against guys we would beat them. Football (not American football) is not so much of a contact sport as others are; people get hurt sometimes but people get hurt playing any sport. I'm sure women could keep up with guys.

The England ladies have qualified for the next world cup, to be played in China.
Having watched the girls play, my opinion is that they often play with more pride and Passion than the lads (especially for England), the quality of the game is improving all the time.
As for sexism within the game, the FA have worked very hard to promote the ladies game, and to improve training/coaching and general facilities. There is some sexist prejudice from a section of male football supporters, but i feel that is begin to lessen.
Good-luck to the England Ladies at the World Cup!

Football in itself is not sexist, because women have their own World Cup and leagues. The problem is that no one goes to see them, compared to the men's leagues and tournaments. But that is not football's fault. That is people's fault. It is the same for almost all sports, especially team sports. The sport is not sexist in itself, but people simply choose to spend more time and money watching the men play. If enough people supported women's sports enough, that would change.

The sexes are kept seperate. There is a womans world cup as well. As a competitive sport not so many woman have been involved so the level of support and ammount of money for womans football is no where near the mens level.
Here are some websites about womans football

no ther are no women footballers good enough. they are not built like men and so are not as big/strong/fast enough but thats mainly because men are nurtured into football from a young age. if you want an example watch a womens football match. then watch a mens football match from say league 2. the league 2 game will be a better game of football (usually) mainly because men are more aggressive and dominant and thats what footbal is all about really, even if they are trying to stamp it out of the game

not really. i mean, if they don't have a women's world cup then they should. or, in the absence of a girls team, they should at least let women join the guys team.
and i don't think the sport itself is sexist. its the people at the head of the world cup organization and the people that have a big influence on that sort of change that are sexist. i realize thats probably not what you meant by your question, but i felt like i needed to put it out there.

We women have our own World Cup. It's just not as popular, because for most of the history of football, it's been a man's sport. Women played hockey, tennis, volleyball, etc. Now it's more acceptable for women to play football, but women's footie hasn't reached that level of popularity yet.

I don't think so.
Women also play football professionally though. If they were to receive the same following and support that Men footballers get then it would inject more money into their game, giving it a higher profile.
There are major competitions (internationally) for Women footballers.

There is no place for mixed sex leagues. I'm not saying that women cannot play football well, they can. On a football field there are too many disparities between the respective strengths and weaknesses of men and women.

To the 1st guy who answered:
Sexist means racist to men or women in a particular way Like not allowing women to play men's sports or not allowing men to have a women's job even though sexist is more commonly toward women.
Soccer I'm not really sure.
