I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are seeking, but here is how the Japanese answer the telephone: "Moshi! Moshi!" It's pronounced--rapidly and with vigor--"MOH-she! MOH-she!," and it's always said twice, including every time it is repeated [like, what you do when no one answers on the other end right away].
