I've noticed today that in here the hate is coming from all sides today, it's here everyday, but it's really bad today! People who are asking totally innocent, insightful questions are being attacked by both gay people & the haters. People who are answering with really good answers are getting a ton of thumbs down. I know the thumb ups/down don't really mean too much, but still! What's going on in here? How do we stop the hate in here?
Does someone just need a hug?

Wickey, I agree... however it's not easy to ignore in here. As I found out today you can only block 200 people... :)

I realize that there will always be hate in this world. My reason for asking this question was more for people to open their eyes that WE are all feeding into it; against each other gay or hater... it’s only breeding more hate and this room seems really mean today, more so than usual...

Bareback Cowboy- I'm a regular here and I rarely go on that section, when I do, I am respectful. But if you don't like someone you can always block them. :)
Syed- I'll pass and it's your loss. :)

Lady Elaine Fairchilde- LOL love your idea! I'm sure nothing will thrill a hater more than seeing me, you, or anyone else from here at their family reunion! ;)

By love. Love them to death and date their brothers, fathers, cousins, uncles, sons, etc. (The reverse for our lesbian sisters.) Because homosexuality isn't a cornered market.
"Then we can hug-it-out, schmug-it-out at the GAY wedding!", exclaims Lady Elaine Fairchilde.

Wish you could, Jyse, very much :)
But as anger, as jealousy, as sex, we are stuck with the emotion of hate. Wouldn't you sometimes like to have lived in a village 40 years ago, where you had one village idiot and two haters ? World must have looked beautiful. Now all idiots from thousand miles away can come and influence your state of mind. Anyone in a bad mood in Tokio can step on your good mood.
So here's a hug.
Do you give me one too ?

LOL@blockin 200 people. Leave it up to Yahoo to give me the feature BUT to extend there all mighty control of stoppin me at 200. God forbid 202 people are harrassing me....geez.
Anyway, i dont think we can actually stop the hate. Unfortunately hate is something that some people are misfortunate enough to have festering deep inside of them and they choose to spew it out all over the innocent people because they dont know what else to do with it. So we just have the choices to ignore it (which im no good at), take it on full force and let them know its not okay and not to be tolerated (which i can be very good at), or just say **** it and toss back a margarita and continue living our happy gay lives :-)

Oh Jyse,
There will always be hate. You can't really change the world. The world has always been, and always will be messed up. But, what you can do is focus on your own life and surround yourself with people you love and who love you. You cannot cure the sorrows of this world, but, you can choose to live joyfully in a sorrowful world.
You are wonderful.

Aww thank you *hugs*. I don't know if it is possible to stop all the hate the best we can hope for is to encourage more people to be open minded. There will always be hateful bitter people who are jealous of anyone who is happy. They use hurtful, and hateful language to make everyone else as miserable as them.

I think everyone on here needs a hug. It just must be national ignorance day and no body rembered to let us know it. All the ignorant people must have the day off and there for have nothing better to do than spread hate on YA.

I think we need to try to remain calm (I admit I got really po'd earlier at some of the uglier stuff), but at the same time retain our determination to be heard. I will not be ruled by hate, however, I am even more determined that I will not be ruled by those that practice hate.
Hang in there friend.

Cyberhug, everybody! I think some people just get on when they're feeling frustrated or upset and take that out on people they don't know online. It keeps those emotions out of their real lives. I think those people need a hug.

YES! I need a big hug! Please!!!!!
I can only choose to try to educate the ignorant, ignore the hate, and focus on love. It gets me thru my day.
Can I have my hug now? I really need one.
