1 mile = 1.6 km, so 1.6 km / 1 mile = 1

1 gallon = 3.785 liters, so 1 gal / 3.785 l = 1

So multiply your mpg by (1.6 km / mile) * (1 gal / 3.785 l)

Cancel the miles. Cancel the gallons. Calculate your answer in km per liter.

B)
Convert 6000km to miles using the relation above.

Convert miles to gallons using the car's mpg.

Convert gallons to cost using the cost of gas.

A..25 miles = 40 km
1 gallon US = 3.8 litres
40 km/gal ÷ 3.8 litres/gal. = 10.53km/litre

B..6,000 km ÷ 40 gal/km = 150 gal
= 150gal x $5.00/gal = $750 for gas.
