"Spider -- Man 3" made its world premiere in Japan, and now "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" is making its world premiere in Japan . I know Harry Potter was created by a British woman, but these are American movies, so they should make their world premiere in the United States . There should be a law that says a movie can't be "exported" until it's made the rounds in America .

Harry Potter's a British movie actually, and they premiere in other countries to get international attention. The more people watch it the more money they make.

Hold on buddy Harry Potter is a British movie lol not american, lets not get all Pearl Harbour on this, but the reason for Spiderman 3 being premired over there i belive it was because it had alot of support in Japan, with merchandice and stuff, lol also you sound abit 'red neck' american there so watch it

spiderman 3, did you know sony is the producer of that movie. i didnt know sony was an american brand. harry potter was by warner bros, warner bros isnt hollywood. plus japan gets alot of buz so the more marketing buz area has the more people will probably watch it. japan i think is the country that starts the first day as in the sun shines there first. in america there is too much christians controlling the media waves so they probably block magic stuff like harry potter so japan is a all open place so its good place to get launched.

One good reason to do it is to stop people in Japan from making bootleg copies of the movie before the moviemakers can release their DVDs of the film in that market. Japanese movies can come out on DVD immediately, so by premiering a film in Japan, the movie makers can sell the DVDs to the Japanese market before bootlegs can eat into their sales. Plus I believe Sony has something to do with Spiderman and Harry Potter in as far as the DVD sales are concerned.

Why? I mean who cares. I would think the world can go beyond the "It's American" or "It's British"... works of art and entertainment belong to everyone. And if they want to do their world premiere there, so what... just as long as I get to see it when it releases here, I don't care.

Thats a good idea, make yet another law that forces the entertainment industry to shoot their movies in other countries. Brilliant. You should be a member of mensa.
