Hello,
I went to the doc yesterday and he said there was a heart beat but the baby was small? I am a month along and have had a misscarriage a year ago. Is there anything I can do to help make the baby bigger? Anything to help to not loose it? The doctor told me to come back in 2 weeks and not worry about it but it is hard. I cannot loose this one!
TYIA!

Sorry, the only thing to do it wait out the next two weeks. Make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins daily, and eat healthy food. Take walks, and relax. Being stressed out won't help. I hope that everything works out okay for you! Good Luck!!

I have had four live births and I didn't think you could hear a heartbeat at 1 month. Anyway, He wouldn't be able to tell if the baby was too small at one month either. At 8 weeks the baby is like 1 1/2 inches long. Sorry to be such a downer, but I think you're confused on some stuff.

The baby is small??? A month old fetus is going to be small--what do you expect him to be?? What is the doctor saying to you--or don't you ask him these questions?? A miscarriage before does not mean a miscarriage now--unless you DOCTOR says it is a high risk pregnancy. He will advise you as to what to do month to month--not some nut on a web site. If you miscarry again--it happens--nothing you can do unless you do what a doctor tells you NOT to do---why the added stress and pressure?? relax and let nature take its course. Billions of babies are around for thousands of years--I think nature knows what to do---and the outcome is strictly all a gamble....I wish you the best of luck

I would recommend finding a new doctor because saying the baby is small at only one month along is rediculous. The baby is not supposed to be big yet, I wouldnt worry about it and I wish you a very healthy pregnancy

Sometimes small mommies carry smaller babies, not sure of your size. If that doctor told you not to worry about it then don't. You're pregnant and don;t need any unnecessaary worries at this time. Just continue to do what he has told you to do and you should be fine.
Wishing you the best.
PS
Ever thought about praying for the baby's health? That works best...

My doctor told me to take Folic acid because I have also had a miscarriage. They say that low levels of the folic acid in your body could cause a miscarriage so on top of taking the prenatal vitamins you should also take folic acid but I would talk to my OB about it first to make sure that is what he or she thinks is right. I know it is hard not to worry about it but really think positive it is the only thing you can do. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers. Congrats on the baby.

Often at four weeks they don't see a baby at all on the ultrasound. I wouldn't worry about it too much, honestly. There is nothing you can do to make the baby bigger, per se, but you can just take care of yourself and eat healthily, and if the baby is meant to be and has no abnormalities, he or she will be just fine on that next ultrasound!

if you're only a month pregnant, of course the baby is small. I doubt the doctor could hear a heart beat yet. the baby is as big as your thumb, if that. just make sure you eat healthy, don't drink alcohol or smoke, don't lift anything heavy. if you take good care of yourself, the baby will grow as it should.

I just read about this on Webmd.com the baby in the first month is smaller than a grain of rice. It's supposed to be small. Look it up on the web site under preganany, first trimester.

you may not have an accurate date of conception, since you are only a month along you may have implanted 3 weeks ago or 4 weeks, who can know for sure. At 1 month gestation its hard to get an accurate measure anyway, its alot clearer at 6-8 weeks. good luck!!!
