First of all someone needs to be knocked off the pedestal they are on! No one should be better than someone else, they should just be different. And if people are mean to people, it is just because they are ignorant!

Well, if one has decided one is better than others, it should hardly be a mystery as to why one would receive such negative attention. That kind of pompous attitude is a horrible personality trait.

I will be mean to you because i am better than you. Why, because it is called a social pecking order. It is how rank, and viability are determined in a social setting. It is not always done in the form of meanness but it is still competition.

It might be because the people who are better might be smug about it but if they are realitively 'selfless' than I think the mean people are just not grateful. maybe
