in my opinion,no one will ever top the story telling and humor of RICHARD PRYOR!!!! but here are a list of comedians I have enjoyed over the years:
George Carlin
Redd Foxx
Andrew Dice Clay
Rodney Dangerfield
Flip Wilson
Moms Mabley
Jeff Foxxworthy
Eddie Murphy
dave chappelle
Bob Newhart
Don Rickles
Bob Hope
Jerry Seinfield
Dick Gregory

Martin Lawerence
Robin Harris
and so many others!!!!

So many good ones. Richard Pryor stands out. Eddie Murphy's "Delirious" is a classic, but "Raw" and some of his other stuff, not so great. Carlin and Rickles are ok, but their routines get old after a while. Newhart is good, if you like deadpan humor. Robin Williams used to be good. Steve Martin is very funny (or was, anyway). Dave Chappelle. Cheech and Chong, but then we're getting into duos.

So I'll say Richard Pryor.

There really are a lot of funny comedians out there. George Carlin, is funny. David letterman, Conan O'brien are quite funny.

That's difficult. It's a tie for me between Mitch Hedberg and Sarah Silverman.
