Im trying to play a game on my computer where I need the mouse aka touchpad on my laptop and this message keeps popping up. It says

The advanced features of your TouchPad have been disabled because the Synaptics TouchPad driver has detected another pointing device plugged into your computer.

How do i fix this?

I am assuming that you have nothing else connected on your computer.

Try to download a driver update from either the manufacturer website or from the Windows Update site. This may correct the problem.

Second, go into the Control Panel. Select Mouse. Go into Device Settings. Make sure that there is only one mouse listed. Disable any other mice. Next, go to Game Controllers in the Control Panel. Make sure that there is nothing listed. If there is something else, disable it.

If this all fails, you may have to purchase an external mouse.

It's saying that it's finding another mouse. Try using a regular mouse and plugging it in. Feel free to email me if it doesn't. And what type of laptop do you have? that could help to solve the problem.
