I'll assume you are referring to concentrated HCl a 37% solution:

density 1.18 g/ml
HCl MW = 36.5 g/mole

20 ml * 1.18 g/ml = 23.6 g HCl

HCl is a gas. Do you mean 20 ml of HCl gas? I need temperature and pressure to answer this.

HCl when bubbled into water makes Hydrocloric Acid which is often also written as HCl. If you have 20 ml of HCl (hydrocloric acid solution), I need to know the concentration of HCl to answer this (concentration usually is molarity, normality, molality).

Mass of 20 ml of HCl is 21 gms as density of HCl --> d15/4 =1.05 of 10.17% w/w solution.Generally HCl is close to 38.0% maximum.

The density of 37% HCL is 1.18g/cm3 = 1.18g/mL

therefore: 20mLX1.18=23.6grams

20mL HCl x 1.2gHCl/1mLHCl = 24g HCl

This assumes concentrated (37%, 12M) hydrochloric acid.

mutliply .2L of HCl by 22.4L.
then you get that number (which are the moles) and then divide by molar mass, which is 37 then you get the answer. peace.

you need the molarity of the solution and then you multiply that by the molar mass of the molecule
