if it comes between someones name and the name of a business it means Trading As eg Mr B Smith T/A The Sandwich Shop would mean that the company is owned by Mr B Smith but the company is called The Sandwich Shop. its usually used by banks or inland revenue etc.

It depends on what context it is used in. If it is to do with business, it stands for 'Trading As'. But it has lots of other meanings.

I've seen this acronymn many times in college

TA can stand for teachers assistant

or in the course log of a school for example it can mean To be Announced

And if you ever see TBD that would mean To be determined.
