This question centers on "forbidden information", concepts or ideas you think society should not be exposed to. Try NOT to include ideas of situational appropriateness - like the Disney channel showing an R rated movie. You can normally view the R rated movie elsewhere. This question deals with humanity as a whole. Are there any types of information that you believe society should not be allowed to see? If so, what is your justification.

I dislike censorship of any kind!
And I would normally say, don't disclose national secrets: but then again with all the media, I don't think we have any national security left except what Bush's administration doesn't want us to know! You know like,'Who really gave up the identity of that CIA agent Phame?'
Well I don't think it was Libby! He was just the scapegoat for Rove and Novak! Thy are the ones who outed her, to divert attention away from her husband, and I can' remember his name, Mr. Wilson! He had been sent by Rove to find out if Saadam had access, or could gian access to materials in order to make a nuclear bomb! And he discovered that Saadam could NOT gain access, and did not even try! thus the outting of Wilson's wife as an agent to obscure his report!
But, like I said, censorship has no place any where, and can not be justified!! In MY opinion, and I'm entitled to it! thank you Good Question!!!!

Definitely NOT. Witholding information is a sinister practice which serves only sinister purposes... for the benefit of perverted, power hungry individuals and/or groups at the top of the pyramid so to say.

We know that knowledge=power while the lack of knowledge = fear (of the unknown). Knowledge and information is what the ones on top are trying to guard, keep for themselves to suppress the ignorant..... that is those ignorant of knowledge so the top honchos can not be challenged.

I have to admit there is another point to consider. Depending on the motives and character of individuals, groups - knowledge can and will be profaned AND abused for selfish purposes. It basically is a "damned if you do and damned if you don't do" situation. That conundrum kept the world turning :)

Is this a 'tree of the knowledge of good and evil' type question?

I would have eaten the 'apple' so: no universal censorship is not remotely possible nor justifiable.......it is fully a matter of perception.......bring the choice, the awareness, the options, the free will....I want to experience as many metaphors for love as I can on this earth....and I want the ying yang to measure them against......

It relies upon on climate the detest speech is threatening or not. to illustrate if some one comes as much as you with hate in his eyes and says I hate you and your loved ones that could desire to be seen like a risky action and only like all different risky action could desire to be unlawful. the place as though somebody does not like somebody’s movements and says so as this is only speech and should not be seen like an action and should not be unlawful. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that speech should not be a criminal be counted that doesn't propose that it rather is alright to assert what you go with. Being rude isn't ok mendacity isn't ok etc. etc. for sure a corrupt government can interpret speech against itself as hate speech. in case you think of the government is corrupt then you go with a sparkling government. removing only regulations gained’t precisely be of plenty help.

I really can't think of anything to fit this category. Perhaps, though, there are things better left unexplored such as racial differences in iq scores.
