I had an ultrasound yesterday at 19wks and straight away the woman said it was a boy, so maybe it wasn't hard to tell.
The 2d ultrasound looks so much clearer than the ones i've seen on the tele. I had a photo done of his head, so you can see the outline of the nose, lips and chin, it's amazing.
But do you think she's correct, as she found it so quickly.
I hope shes right for the sake of shopping wise hehe. Thanks xx

Sounds like she's pretty sure if she found it so quick! I would trust her.

Usually the US techs are almost always right on if they say its a boy. Girls are harder to tell but a boy is almost definite. Sometimes though they mistake the umbilical cord for a penis. Then again you had a 3d so if it were me I'd go shopping but keep the tags on until your next ultrasound in case you need to exchange.

sometimes it is quite easy to tell, i was 37 weeks with baby 3 when i had to have a scan (they thought she was breech) during the scan i asked if he could tell the sex and he showed me and it was so obviously a girl........
my friend ha a scan at 20 weeks and at 1st baby had legs crossed but then they opened to reviel a little boy....... ut sometimes they can be wrong and what appears to be 1 sex turns out to be another.......so don't buy too much just in case......

THEY'RE USUALLY RIGHT. BOTH OF MINE WERE RIGHT. I ONLY KNOW A FEW PEOPLE WHO WERE TOLD ONE THING BUT HAD THE OPPOSITE. SORRY TO SAY BUT IT'S ALWAYS BEEN THEY WERE TOLD THEY WERE HAVING BOYS AND TURNS OUT THEY HAD GIRLS. THE PERSON DOING THE ULTRASOUND MISTOOK THE UMBILICAL CORD FOR A PENIS. COME TO FIND OUT THAT IS KINDA COMMON.

Yes boys are way easier to spot than a girl.

you can deffinately tell if its a boy or not...when i was pregnant for my son and i had an ultrasound to see what it was you automatically could tell it was a boy...they even printed out a little picture of the private area to show the rest of the family...

boys are very easy to ID, as long as they give you a clear shot!
My son was sexed at 15 weeks, and I could see it clear as a bell. Its very likely that she's right.

she could be right but than again sometimes its hard to tell. i was told a boy and had a girl. buy boy clothes but also buy neutral just in case you do have a girl. good luck.

For the trained eye, a penis is easy to spot on an ultra-sound.

most times they r correct all of my ultrasounds were correct
