Tony Blair, is thinking of becomeing a Catholic, do you have to belong to the anglican religion, to be a P.M. in the U.K.?

I don't believe so.. I believe it is only the monarch that has to be in a religion.. as they are the head of the Church of England.

but I'm not British and may be off on my recollections.

P.S. Blair is no longer the PM

I don't think Gordon is an Anglican but I may be wrong. Oh by the way I can't see much difference between Anglican and Roman Catholic apart from Headquarters being in Canterbury rather than Rome. Maybe someone could enlighten me

No. There is no religious requirement to be PM.

In any case Gordon Brown was brought up in the Presbyterian Church of Scotland.
