I live in a college dorm thats nothing like TV. It sucks. So anyway I have to share the bathrm w/2 girls, and I have to share my room w/one. Its set up in a way that if my roomate wants to use the bathrm she has to come through my portion of the room and if i want to exit the room I have to go through her side. Its quite intrusive. Anyway times when I have to take out my trash, I take out the bathrms, I take out mine and I offer to take out my roomates. No sense in all of us going outside at once if it can be done in one trip. Well Ive done this for about 2wks now. Since the other girl i share the bathrm made it a point to say that she refuses to take out the trash since she did it LAST TIME, which is a lie. I havent taken it out. Now un-surprisingly trash is building up. Im getting PO off b/c were not children, and noone should have to tell them when to take out trash. Is it unreasonable for me to let it build up? I dont feel I should maid-ing for them. Im not the friggin trash lady!

I had a similar situation in college. I simply began putting any trash I generated in a small grocery bag and taking it out daily. Pretty soon, my roommates noticed what I was doing, realized it was their problem now, and took their own trash out.

Take out your own trash and let the other's "grow up". Ma-ma doesn't live there and they need to be responsible for their own mess. I would be sure to take care of my own so I can proudly say....My trash has been taken care of. I would wade up to my hips in trash before I would take care of someone else trash that doesn't want to bother.

Seperate trash containers for each person (in their area) seems to be the only answer. If they don't empty their own, it's their problem.

I would say for you to take care of yourself. just make sure you leave nothing lying around so they can't blame you and if they want to live in filth then so be it. you just take care of your stuff and the rest will be up to them!!!
