Can someone help me with the 1.08 patch for F.E.A.R.?

Whenever I click on the setup for the patch, it says "Setup has detected that the ActiveMARK-protected version of F.E.A.R. is not installed on this machine."

I recently bought my F.E.A.R. (legally) and I want to run this patch because I want to play online. Can someone please help me with this problem? Thanks in advance!

Make sure the version of the patch is right. It could be you need version 1.07 to use that patch. Many of the patches say what version they are patching too, but what they are patching from. It sounds like it can't find the right exe file for patching.
