No but it is in our nature to eat other animals.
I wouldn't eat one that talks and is smart though thats just plain wrong. Some animals do eat us though.
I am against killing animals but if I must do it to survive I will.
"Take what is needed not what you want"

The whole world will never become a planet of vegetarians thats just how the food chain works , there is always need for predator and prey

I believe that animals DO talk...just in a language that isn't understood by people. Most vegetarians have to take pills in order to get all the vitamins that mot people get from eating meat. So why would anyone want to take pills for? I wouldn't.....esp. since I like meat.
The only thing I have a problem with is the treatment of animals BEFORE they are killed. I don't like the way chickens are being kicked around like footballs and when I find that one of my chicken wings are split in two makes me.
I am an omnivore and am not ashamed of it. Sure you have to kill animals to feed yourself.....but hey they can reproduce.
As I've said it's not the killing I have a problem with it's.....the treatment.
I'm human and not a rabbit.

Well, they CAN talk. Parrots, and some other species of bird talk pretty good, if you train them. Other kinds of animals are communicating with us all the time, and people are still eating them. Like when a dog waggs its tail. Everyone knows that means it is telling you it is happy. But Koreans still eat dog.

If they could talk, they would be sentient, therefore worthy of moral consideration, and therefore it would be morally wrong to eat them.

Meat is not murder. Murder is a legal term, one that only applies to humans. Meat requires killing, but killing of animals is by definition not murder.

Meat is murder! Tasty Tasy Murder...Given the level of intelligence of the average steer, I'm sure its conversation would tire me quickly and I'd have to fire up the BBQ. Mmmmm- thanks for making me think about it, now I know what I'm doing for dinner tonight....

Humans don't need brocolli to survive either, so I'm steering clear of that, but we do need to eat something and a big juicy steak is as good as anything....

What EVER gave you the idea that animals can't talk?

BTW killing plants and plant seeds to eat can be classified as murder, too. It is impossible to eat without killing something, and will be until we learn to synthesize proteins.

Well yea because if we don't there will be way more animals than humans and everyone loves chicken, beef, and all those tasty foods. It doesn't really make a big difference between eating them or not just because they can talk.

Get over it and go join the bleeding hearts from PETA. Of course we would still eat animals. Its an essential part of our diet - iron. Better than that tofu crap.

Yes, I would still eat animals. Why? Because they are made of meat.
