When I mean violent, I mean they have been seen people being knocked out for looking at them wrongly.

That does not mean they bash all people up when they feel like it. Only ones that they do not like for some reason. When they are losing control in their own head for whatever reason.

Bully in the age group 40 to 50, but could equally apply to those in the age group 20 to 40.

I have understated the problem. These people will stalk you and wait four days to make their attack. Looking at them is provocation.

Hi,
It sounds like a person who always has to be right and will charge like an angry bull if you challenge or cross them.

DON'T shout back. Try to stay calm. Take a deep breath. Let them blow off steam and express their anger and frustration. But, draw the line. Do not let them get abusive.

Address them calmly by name to maintain control. Then state your position clearly and avoid the temptation to argue. If necessary just walk away. Wait until they've calmed down and try again if there's something you're trying to get through to them. You won’t win a battle with them, especially in a public forum. Learn to set your boundary early on. To argue, fight or retaliate will reinforce their bullying as it's giving them the reaction they're hoping for. To walk away means they've got no one to bully!

I hate to say this and I do not admit to any wrong doing on my own part, but as a young man in a very urban city there were occasionally such bullies and the locals always dealt with them the same way. If one were being picked on an harassed by some bully far too big and powerful (often the case since by definition, bullies pick on weaker people) one would often purchase an industrial mop handle.

One would saw it in half and soak it in dirty motor oil for about two weeks. Then, after letting it dry, one would hide and wait for the bully near his home. When the opportunity presented itself, the bully would receive a sharp pain in his knee followed by many other sharp pains and broken bones.

Of course, one would never speak of such matters. But the message got through. The bully never even knew which of his victims was responsible.

That was at least forty years ago.

I guess you must mean in school. I am not in that environment any longer and my solution is that I carry a Glock 9mm and dont really think about it much.

(I carry it legally mind you as I have a carry permit)

When in school, however, I encountered these aholes also and found the best way to handle them was not to be a "victim" type personality. It may be tough going for a bit but standing up to them and not running away or avoiding eye contact gains you respect. They sense and thrive on taking advantage of people that are afraid of them.

Try taking a Tae Kwando course - good for your body and good for your personal confidence.

Another tip: Make friends with a real real big dude....that will get around too.

You can't. No one can. They are mean to the core and they are trying to make people feel the way they do. They are different than most people because they have a big void to fill up. They have a root cause and closure to that is the only thing that will ever help. Sorry.

How to deal with aggressive bullies? steer clear brother!! they are looking to take out their anger on YOU. even when they are seemingly in a good mood. they want to bring everyone down to their miserable state of being. no one should be happier than them. they also seek to try to control you. they will reap joy from watching you be in the pain that they have caused.
stay away. stay away

One must stand up to the violent bullies and not let them see your weakness cause then they will defeat you. Let them know that you will defend yourself if needed.
