I am going to Las Vegas For Labor Day weekend, the first weekend of September. Is it still very hot? Are all the pools at the main casinos on the strip open? I will be staying at Ballys, anything new on the strip that I should not miss, I've been to Vegas 4 times in the past 5 years.

Yes, it will still be very hot. Probably in the nineties. The pools will definitely be open.

Labor Day will be HOT it even gets in the 100's at this time, and it can also be in the 80's. It will be in the 90's though, which is typical for that time of year. The pools at ALL the casino will be open, they dont usually close the popls until Oct/Nov depending on the weather.

As for things to do that I would suggest:

1. Drink at clubs and lounges - RAIN (PALMS casino) and PURE (Caesar's Palace) are amongst the best two clubs with the best dance floors, decor, and setup.

2. If you're into rides, then the roller coaster at NEWYORK NEWYORK casino is the best roller coaster in Vegas. There is also the Big Shot and INSANITY rides atop of the Stratosphere Casino (with the best views in the city, as good as a helicopter view).

3. Catch a show/eat Buffet - KA at MGM Grand and "O" at Bellagio are the two best Cirque Du Soleil shows in Vegas with customized theaters (moving stages and all) - definately worth the ticket price. The buffets at Wynn and Bellagio rival fancy restaurants in the city - the price at these buffets are high, but well worth it if you can afford it - very nice and fun atmostphere to eat in.

4. Gamble, of couse - but now almost all the casino host poker tournaments and have poker rooms that are nice. This is a better way to spend time gambling, rather than just blindly betting on blackjack (though I have to admit I love blackjack too).

Have fun and relax while your there. Hope this helps.

Las Vegas is probably the most exciting and amusing city on the planet and with hotelbye you will find out more. Nowhere otherwise on earth you will discover an area that has all of the vacation amenities that only a total resort location will offer: luxurious casino lodges, fine eating, wonderful live entertainment and state-of-the art conference and trade show facilities. Las Vegas is surely a magnificent town and anything that you'd assume from the world-class area, and more, is below for the travel pleasure. One of the areas you should visit in Las Vegas may be the Fremont Street, a pedestrian area with a myriad of unique sites.

Well I live here in Vegas. In Sept in will be 100 something. The chances of it being cooler are not high!! Unless some freak weather happens, it will still be HOT!!!! The pools will be open. It doesn't cool down until around the end of Nov. This Jan we didn't get any warmer than 44 in the day time!!! My horses water would freeze every night!! Vegas.com is a good site!! Go check it out.

It's starting to cool down, but it will still be, at best, in the high nineties and, at worst, up to 110 or so in the middle of the day.

Yes, all the pools will be open.

I don't know how recently you were there, but there are a few fairly new hotels to check out- Planet Hollywood, Wynn, etc. There are also some fairly new shows, like The Producers (at the Paris), Spamalot (at the Wynn, I believe) and some others.

As for things you shouldn't miss. It's not on the strip, but if you haven't been to Fremont Street - catch a ride on the double decker buses and go over around dark. Stay and watch the light show performances - once every hour. There are at least 4 different versions that I know of and maybe more.

It is ok to stay at two dif hotels, easy walking distance. Labor Day the prices go up and people come to celebrate the end of the summer. BTW the rooms at Venetian are beautiful and bigger than those at Bellagio. Both are great places to stay
