Hiring illegal immigrants is braking the law. So was the underground railroad. How are the two different?

Different times. Different circumstances. Different laws. Different stakes. Different consequences. Different everything! I could go on, but the fact is this: the only thing these two things have in common is that they were crimes in their respective times. There is a lot more that these two things DON'T have in common. In Fairbanks, Alaska it is illegal to give alcoholic beverages to moose. Would you compare that to Prohibition in the 1930s? Probably not. So what is your point?

The two are somewhat equal but the underground railroad freedom has served its purpose and now the illegal immigrants will have to do the same.

The only similarity is the breaking the law factor...

Now if you were talking about harboring a murderer, rapist, or some other felon I could say they are near the same thing.

A better question would have been how are they the same........

How about we compare speeding on the free way with slavery they are both breaking the law........

Hmm...let's see here, the blacks were brought here strictly to work and be subjugated by whites. Illegals come here on their own accord.

No similarities.
