Should you really blame the child or the parent. When young teen girls get pregnant it is just as much the responsibility of the parent as it is the child. I have seen too many girls get pregnant and many times it is because the parents of the girl let her boyfriend move in with them or stay the night.. Parents are being irresponsibly these days. As a parent I feel it is my responsibility to tell my children what can happen and how it happens and teach them that they should wait until after they have finished their education and are set in a career. Teen pregnancy is a parents responsibility as much as it is the childs..

I'm tired of people asking about it. But here, if it really bugs you then dont pay attention to it and dont read about it, no one is forcing you to. Second, those girls are asking for help because they know that they made a mistake, and everyone makes mistakes, some just more than others. We know that no one on Y!A can really do much for them, but it can be really hard to admit to people that you see face-to-face that you are pregnant, and I think that they come here first just in case there was something that the haven't thought of that could help, and right now they need all the help they can get. At least they are trying to get help, (if not in the best place) but its a start, and I dont bag on them for messing up and trying to fix it. Sure it is their own fault, but at least they are being somewhat productive and working towards fixing it.

I agree the amount of teenagers that are getting pregnant now is out of control. They need to really think these things through. They think a baby is something like a toy or something that will love them. The don't understand the stress both emotionally and financially that goes along with raising a child. If you aren't ready to have a baby take the pill, wear a condom and pull out. Or better yet don't have sex.

i can honestly say that I understand your annoyance, being older. But perhaps you have never been in our position. You've never had sex when you weer our age did you? Perhaps, and this is prbably right, that you are still a virgin. As pathetic and infuriating as it must sound to you, you're....jealous aren't you. Not of the pergancies, but the virginial-loss stuff. hmmm. Yeah thats it. You heard me right, you need a life. Who makes up a question about this and posts it on yahoo. It's almost hipocritical. You need a life girl, and maybe some sex. Oh and I agree with you on one thing god save us..you...-those sections are a good idea.
(I'm talking to the OTHER girls who feel like you because I know you are only 13.)
oh, and the reason I am on here, asking questions about sex and pregnancy and answering others' problems is because I am mature for my age, and I'm am pregnant myself! Now, I'm not saying you are not mature, I just think it's, fishy (?), wrong ?), that you would come on here at 13 and automatically come onto the parenting and pregnancy section? I don't think anyone would want to come crying to a rude 13 yo girl with very little experience in their situations. Plz find something more for you.

i agree, and there are also too many ways for a teen mom/dad to get out of their mess. abortion, adoption, parents help and pretty much raise the child as their own. Its really an epidemic and its not right. There needs to be better sex education is schools and with all of those, they should all watch someone their age give birth(in a video), that will show them what it is really like, teenagers these days are only thinking about which boy likes them, sleeping with that boy to keep him and not the consequences. a baby is not the only consequence, HPV, HIV/AIDS, chlamydia, herpes, gonnerhea, etc. There is so much that teens these days need to learn and most (not all) are too spoiled or have too much freedom to realize that what they are doing has serious consequences.

just because a teenager gets pregnant, doesnt mean she is irresponsible. teens have sex, thats the world today, remember way back then, when it was normal for teens to have babys and be married around 15, and 16. if it was okay then.. i think its ok now, im not saying they shouldnt wait, because they should. but it doesnt mean they wont step up and become a good mother. if our great grand parents did it, i think teenagers today could too.

The fact is actually that teens are going to have sex. Period. Instead of criticizing their choices, try telling teens about the values of all the different types of birth control. Teens make mistakes. Maybe you didn't make the mistake of getting pregnant when you were a teen but that doesn't make you better that any one else. It also doesn't help when you've got peer pressure, a boyfriend saying, "i love you soooo much," and parents who don't keep close tabs on their kids. Find a fix for the problem, while keeping in mind that preaching abstinence in not that realistic.

just because the are young doesn't mean they don't have questions about what to do and how to do it. but i agree about the irresponsible teens. they have free clinics that give birth control to those who ask. the ones i feel sorry for are the ones who were raped and the poor unborn child the teen is carrying.

I agree about the categories. However, I have compassion for these misled teens. They are not acting like animals. They are acting deprived of love. Compassion is a great quality... take that to heart.
