I think I can understand both sides of that discussion. I mean we are implanting a foreign object into our pets! But at the same time I am planning on chipping both of mine. I just want to know that if they get out whoever finds them can get my information so they will come home safe. They have collars but those don't always stay on and people can take them off. Around here there is a problem with stolen pets especially the toy breeds and a chip helps return pets to their rightful owners.

I do wish there was a better way but I think it is all in the interest of keeping pets safe so for now I am all for it.

Very humane and is a good idea if your dog has a tendency to run off. All hospitals and shelters scan all strays that comes in to see if they have a chip or not.
The chip is implanted the same exact way that a vaccine is given. It is given with a needle under the skin (like a shot)
No worries. Go for it!

Yes. They just put it under their coat. It doesn't hurt too bad and it has returned a lot of dogs to their homes that otherwise may have ended up in the pound. I get flea and Heart worm prevention from a non profit animal lovers organization. They highly recommend micro-chipping and do it free when they can. There is no way they would promote it if it were inhumane.

my sister it a vet tech n shes taken all four of our pets to get chips because its so worth it!!! if you ever lose your dog its such a simple way you dont even have to worry lol. we got it in our 2 dogs and our 2 cats (even tho the cats are inhouse cats) we just want to be safe with them, n it would only hurt them for a sec (kinda like a shot)

yes, it's humane. think about it, if you don't, and then you lose them and no matter what you do you can't find your dog, your going to be thinking back on your past with your dog and your going to be thinking "why on earth didn't I get a chip for him?"

It's totally humane. My dog didn't even feel it. He's pretty small too. Plus, would you rather take the chance your dog runs away, gets hurt, is taken to a vet, fixed up, taken to a humane society, and put to sleep because nobody knows where to find you and that you even exist? Me neither.

Very Humane as it will help you find them if they get lost.

It dosent hurt, I had one put in my rabbit, and he didn,t even
really notice anything.

Its just the size of a grain of rice, stuck right under the skin fold.
