Ecuador on July 1st (I guess 2 pm central).
Borgetti is hurt and being replaced by Landin. Kikin was not chosen to play in Copa America and reported back to Tigres training camp in Cancun yesterday. Not sure why Cuau didn´t play for a moment thought that he would play the last 15 minutes but after Bravo came into the field I agreed that defense was needed (Brazil tried to score at least once and increase chances of making it to the next round. Do not doubt they will, though)
It would have been nice to see Ronaldo and Ronaldinho playing and see how Mexico would have played but a victory is a victory, forget about the rest and continue improving in team play

I think the reason they won was BECAUSE Cuau, Borgetti, and Kikin weren't playing. It was about time Hugo changed the line-up a bit. Too bad Guardado was hurt. Castillo played good but he shouldn't hog the ball so much and then he committed that error at the end when he was all alone and still missed the goal. They really were awesome goals though!

McGainer... Real original!! The only sad part is that they aren't playing in the US so it wouldn't make sense.. The Copa is in Venezuela... What a moron!!
As for the question, I think it's cool that the top dogs didn't join... It gives the other guys a chance to show what they have... It was a good game.. Brasil came back in the second but it wasn't enough.. Especially with Ochoa as Mexican Goalie.

It was a great game. The first goal was a masterpiece. I was really impressed by Mexico's poise.
In any case, the reason that the top players weren't playing for Brazil is because they didn't want to. Some players, especially big stars, don't take this tournament that seriously. What a shame. Their loss!

I think it's great that Mexico did a good job yesterday without their top players, I just hope they continue like this throughout the tournament!

borgetti and andres guardado where injured from the usa game. osorio, sanchez, and medina got the day off. and speed like mexico's castillo was superb and was an excellent gameplan, so we didn't need blanco. and kikin has been in a big slump.
as for the brazillian stars, let's jus say they feel they're too good to play in copa america when brazil really needed them...

Wow that was a great game for Mexico I don't know were Brasil's state of mind were but they seem to come back second half but it was not enough. but onward with Sundays game hope we keep playing good futbol!
