There was that event at the Pentagon, but, without the New York towers falling, I don't think we would have wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Homeland security dept, or taking our shoes off in airports.

Would we be hit again? I believe that we will - just like dozens of other nations that are doing their best to keep the populace safe. Crazy, disillusioned people will do crazy things. You can't actually fight an emotion (terror), without a source of that emotion.

peace

Probably, since the Twin Towers and Iraq are not even really related. The World Trade Center bombing was carried out by members of the Al-Qaida, which is a fanatical religious extremist group out of Afghanistan, which isn't even the same country as Iraq. Saddam Hussein, while an evil man, had nothing to do with Osama Bin Laden or the destruction of the towers. I don't know if the war in Iraq would have had the same initial support, since the Bush administration did such a great job of spinning the Trade Center bombing and leading the American public to believe that Iraq and the Al-Qaida were somehow linked to get us all behind them for the war.

We are in Iraq not because of terror attacks---we are there because of Weapons of Mass Destruction----didn't you see the drawings that were shown about it???

Then because nothing was found right away, the war became a war against terror??? but who's creating the "terror" now? American troops are in Iraq keeping the country from getting by on its own---terrorizing civilians.

Yes we would be in Iraq. Iraq was caused by Sad dams actions, not 911. The Clinton administrations policy was towards a regime change. They just didn't have the clout or the trust from the American People because of all of Clinton's personal problems.

I think if the towers stood, and the number of dead that day were under 100, we would not be in Iraq today.

We would have stepped up our fight against terrorism, yes, but I don't believe the Dems in Congress would have been nearly so gung ho to vote yes on going into Iraq.

War with Iraq was inevitable from the day that President Bush was inaugurated.

Oil strategy. The defense industry. Big money.

No, Iraq would not have happened, nor the war on terror until a large terror attack.
Yeah, we will get hit again.

Even if they had not fallen, many innocent people would have died from the fire and the collision and such.
I believe we would have gone to war regardless - however, the white house may not have been able to convince the American Public to invade IRAQ in that case.

The war in Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11.

Honestly, I think the administration would have found a reason or a way to get over there. There's an agenda at hand that 99% of the world will never know about.
