The PharmD or "Doctor of Pharmacy" degree is the degree now given by all USA colleges of pharmacy. It takes four years of full time study.

Some Colleges of Pharmacy will admit students to their programs if the students have two years of college and have completed the entire list of prerequisite courses. Other schools prefer that applicants have completed their BS degrees, usually with a major in biochem, chem or bio.

You can get more information about pharmacy programs by checking the website of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy AACP. They have links to the webpages of every accredited US pharmacy college.

Good luck!

That depends on where you go. Some Universities like the University of Toledo will set you back year if you have not completed their undergraduate pharmacy program. However I believe the average is 4 years to complete the Pharm D program.

I hope this helps.

The PharmD is a 6 year program and very competitive. It is recommended that you take the PCAT exam as well.
It will lead to a wonderful career with excellent salary, benefits are ok, and long-term future with lots of possibilities.
It's a tough program but well worth it from what I've seen.
