Location, Location, LOCATION ..
.. and, of course, what building ???
Check out the SELF BUILD web sites & discussion forums .. .. they suggest average self build budget 150k, of which Land cost is about 50k (with the house costing 100k)
I have a friend who bought just enough land (on the outskirts of a vilage near Luton) for one tiny 2 bed house for £25,000 !
It's going to cost them about £75,000 to build the house (to their specification) and once it's finished it's going to be 'worth' at least £150,000 (maybe more by the time they finish:-) )
So, in their case, Land was 25% of the total.
(Once the house is built, it no longer makes sense to attempt to price land and house seperately :-) )

It depends on the property and the area. Sometimes the land value is more valuable than with a developed building on the property.

all depends on area the house is situated and cost of living in that area as a general rule a two thirds more of building land to value of property

Traditionally as a brief rule of thumb:
1/3 for the land
1/3 for the build costs
1/3 for profit
Depends what you're building, where, and why.
