yes it just verifies that you were born on april 20 in the morning rather than late at night or a different day, it just allows for a more specific time at which you were brought into the world, It also helps to identify that the baby born is the right one for the parents because the baby is put into an incubator room away from the parents and they dont want to mix any children up

If we consider that no planet takes only 24 hours to cross the zodiac, it doesn't make sense. But the earth swallows 24 hours per spin, and many constellations stand in circles on top of the North Pole.

In fact you can see the stars scroll from west to east at night, if i'm right, so basically each country is exposed to different constellations at different parts of the day. The hour of birth would therefore indicate an Earth sign.

It's hard to seize I admit. That astral influence is a mystery hopefully not explained yet by pop science, like why do plant seeds produce plants, and why can't we synthetise them to create food at home instead of just buying them at the grocery.

Why? :)

You were born in 1984, the same year as me. According to Chinese zodiac we were born in the year of the rat.

People born from 2 February 1984 - 19 February 1985 are under the year of the Wood Rat.

Being the first sign of the Chinese zodiac, rats are leaders, pioneers and conquerors. They are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical and hardworking. Rat people are endowed with great leadership skills and are perhaps the most organized and systematic of the twelve signs. Intelligent and cunning at the same time, rats are highly ambitious and strong-willed people who are keen and unapologetic promoters of their own agendas, which often include money and power. They are energetic and versatile and can usually find their way around obstacles, and adapt to various environments easily. A rat's natural charm and sharp demeanor make it an appealing friend for almost anyone, but rats are usually highly exclusive and selective when choosing friends and so often have only a few very close friends whom they trust.

Behind the smiles and charm, rats can be terribly obstinate and controlling, insisting on having things their way no matter what the cost. These people tend to have an immense control of their emotions, which they may use as a tool to manipulate and exploit another person, both emotionally and mentally. Rats are masters of mind games and can be very dangerous, calculating and downright cruel if the need arises. Quick-tempered and aggressive, they will not think twice about exacting revenge on those that hurt them in any way. Rats need to learn to relax sometimes, as they can be quite obsessed with detail, intolerant and strict, demanding order, obedience, and perfection.

A valuable lesson for Rats is to learn to consider others before themselves, at least sometimes, and to avoid forcing their ideas onto others. Rats are fair in their dealings and expect the same from others in return, and can be deeply affronted if they feel they have been deceived or that their trust has been abused. Sometimes they set their targets too high, whether in relation to their friends or in their career. But as the years pass, they will become more idealistic and tolerant. If they can develop their sense of self and realize it leaves room for others in their life as well, Rats can find true happiness.

According to tradition, Rats often carry heavy karma and at some point in life may face an identity crisis or some kind of feeling of guilt. Rats are said to often have to work very long and hard for everything they may earn or have in life. However, a Rat born during the day is said to have things a bit easier than those who are born at night. Traditionally, Rats born during the night may face extreme hardships and suffering throughout life.

Traditionally, Rats should avoid Horses, but they can usually find their best friends and love interests in Monkeys, Oxen, and Dragons.

I severely doubt it. People think that the zodiac makes a profound impact on their lives, but they're only concerning themselves with the temporal implications. They only consider the possibilities that the heavens have when you're born from This Date to This Date, or That Date to That Date, but they all forget that this is strictly from the vantage point of EARTH. What if you were born on April 20, 1984 at 3:31 A.M. Earth time, but were somehow born on the opposite side of the galaxy? Everything that the stars supposedly foretell is suddenly meaningless since the vantage point of YOUR home planet would be entirely different from that seen on Earth.

Get it, or did I lose you? :P

Yes is does - your time of birth influences your "rising" in your sign. It is supposed to be like a minor curve on your dominant sign, which is determined by your day of birth.

For example, I was born at 1:32am on June 12th. In horoscope terms that makes me a Gemini (June 12th) with a Pisces rising (1:32am).

Check out the book "Love Signs" by Linda Goodman - it's a gigantic book, (you could probably stop a bullet with it) - but an entertaining read. It matches up all the combinations of signs and breaks down what relationships are generally like between them.

I think it does have a pattern.

The people who I've met who were born in the AM tend to be early morning people. People who were born the PM tend to be night owls.

Just an observation that I had - but it probably holds NO scientific backing.

OH MY GOSH! 3:31 AM! That is the precise time when the devil claims rights to the souls of all children born at that time.

And April 20, 1984! You don't even want me to tell you what that means!
