Unfortunatley, neither of these terms have a meaning anymore. I mean if you go back and look at the respective parties from years ago, neither one of them bare any resembelance to the predeccassors. Now, it's just a huge political game to help extremists on both sides gain power and pass their own personal agendas. They care very little anymore about what we think. Our founding fathers new this of course. They maticulously wrote the cinstitution to prevent it, but our own officials and legal scholars, in their so-called wisdom have decided that they can now legistate laws from the bench that totally ignore the constitution. That will be our down fall. That is also why a great man once said: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants..."

And I hope that our government officials remember these things. Many Americans really are fed up with the politics and many of them haven't forgotten that they still have the right to bare arms for that very reason. God, I hope that never happens but can almost just see it coming.

You are so right Today there is no difference. The Conservatives have seemed to have forgotten what they stand for. To me , when I first voted at 21 Conservative meant That you were expected to help yourself as much as you could & if you needed a little help you asked for it.The Democrats have not changed at all. They still think BIG GOVERMENT is the way to go. They dont think we can do anything on our own. If you listen to the dems you have no incentive to do things yourself. Right now the Repubs are no differant.I became a Independent after Reagen. He to me was the real last Conservative. Gw talks the talk on a lot of issues but does not walk the walk on others.
